Even though our aircraft are in the Park Flyer category (2 pounds or less, under 60 mph) and they are often made of foam, they are not toys and must be handled consciously and carefully. Electric aircraft can start suddenly once power is connected (for example, if the transmitter is jostled). An incorrect movement of the transmitter stick can send a plane in an unexpected direction. These are just two of the many aspects of safety we take into account when meeting to fly. As an AMA-chartered club, we fully support and follow the Official AMA National Model Aircraft Safety Code. It is important that visitors and new members familiarize themselves with this code. Failing to follow the code may also affect insurance coverage. |
